ENJOYING SPORT WITH A PSB PATELLA BRACE
.

PSB is a quality product by Push, developed by a team of experienced specialists in close cooperation with athletes. PSB incorporates the latest techniques and materials.

About knee injuries.

Injuries to the patella (kneecap) are common, especially in young athletes. Except in the case of acute dislocation, they mainly involve long standing discomfort around, behind or under the patella.

These symptoms of strain arise gradually and are characterised by soreness around the kneecap, especially following sporting activity. The cause may be disposition (e.g. an abnormal knee position), but the condition may also be due to the patella being too small, or weak thigh muscles or an abnormal foot shape.

Treatment must be aimed at the diagnosed causes. In addition to treating the causes, it will also be necessary to alleviate the symptoms by localised treatment of the place where the pain is felt. Possible treatments include ice, medicines and physiotherapy. A patella brace helps reduce pain during sporting activity.

When to use a PSB patella brace

For pain around the kneecap (runner's knee) or inflammation of the attachment of the knee tendon (jumper's knee).

Unsuitable for:

No conditions are known which preclude wearing a patella brace. Pain should always be seen as a warning. In case of continuing pain or other symptoms for which there is no clear cause, you should always consult your GP, physiotherapist or sport therapist.

Special  properties.

The stiffener in the patella brace (pad) applies pressure to the knee tendons and the lower edge of the patella. This takes the strain off the tendon and reduces pain. The patella brace is simple to fit around the lower leg.

A similar design is used in the PSB elbow brace for tennis elbow the difference being that the elbow strap is held in place with a plastic buckle

One size only.

The PSB Patella Brace is available in a single universal size.

Easy fit.

1 Bend knee slightly.
2 Place the patella brace just under the patella, on the tendon, allowing the patella to project into the space. (Fig. 1)
3 Keep hold of the pad with one hand and with the other pull the brace around the leg. (Fig. 2)
4 Fasten the Velcro fastener as tightly as possible without impeding circulation.

Easy wash.

Before washing close all Velcro fastenings. Do not wash at temperatures in excess of 40° C as this will damage the elasticity of the material.

Allow your PSB Sport brace to dry naturally, do not put it into the dryer or on a radiator. To ensure a long and useful life, it is essential to allow your sport brace to dry out properly after sporting activity. Never keep it in your kitbag while it is still damp.
